In pictures: LNG pipeline

Specially built shipping tankers carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) are due to start arriving at Milford Haven in early 2008. The imported gas is frozen to reduce its volume to make it more cost effective to transport.

Two giant plants are currently under construction where, once finished, the frozen gas will be re-gassified into its natural gas state when it will then be pumped under high pressure into the UK's existing network.
