In pictures: Council pension strike

More than 2,500 council workers in Ealing in west London joined UK-wide action over plans to change a rule allowing some people to retire on a full pension at 60.

Rob James, 28, who has worked at the council's democratic services office for nearly two years, said he was striking to protect his future.

"People who work in the public sector are working for the good of the country and are being kicked in the face by the government and by local government," he said.
