In pictures: South Asia's slow recovery from the tsunami
Swept away

Mohammad Farooq, and his daughter Jabeena Bano are from the minority Muslim community. The tsunami waves swept away Jabeena Bano's mother and grandmother from their home in the coastal village of Chuchucha.

Her mother's body was never found. She is one of 36 children in Car Nicobar who lost their mothers. The villagers have since been relocated to forests deep inland. They live in shelters made from tin sheets. Permanent homes are being made and should be ready by late 2007.
