In pictures: South Asia's slow recovery from the tsunami

In June a new purpose-built home for tsunami affected children was opened. For many children its larger size and cleanliness is an improvement on accommodation they were provided with immediately after the disaster.

The number of children has risen from 55 to 79 - staff say the reason for the growth is the friendly atmosphere and the emphasis on education. But so far only the new hall has been completed. Other buldings - including dormitories will be ready in the new year.
