New Year's Eve saw the first bad weather of the Himalayan winter.
Three days of showers and snow left the hills around Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, covered with snow.
The worst affected areas were the Leepa and Neelum valleys, and parts of the Jhelum valley including villages around Bagh.
Fears rose that about 15,000 families could be at risk because of their collapsed houses.
