Samundar Kanwar is a regular customer.

She comes clutching a little notebook with numbers.

Today, she asks Prasad to dial up her son's telephone number.

"Vishnu works in an alcohol shop in a nearby village. I told him to come home. I need some money," she says.

Prasad calculates the call charges on a calculator, collects the payment and is off again.
