The ironsmith lost his home and so he is forced to work outside. Crafts such as barbers and ironsmiths are seen as degrading jobs.

Unlike other Palasis they do not own any of the land or the forest. They are quite poor. But they play a very important role in October and November when people are cutting grass and they need to sharpen blades.

The grass is used as fuel in the winter.
