The "hujra" is the meeting place for villagers. They build a fire and talk and sing traditional folk songs all night.
This is the centre for all life in winter, with little else to do. But few songs are being sung this year. Now they talk about the earthquake. It has made a big dent in their social lives as a lot of people have moved away. They talk about how to rebuild their lives over the next few years.
Many such hujras were destroyed by the earthquake.
