This is my second marriage, which is very unusual in Egypt. I was married for 30 years and my husband had been chosen for me.

I wasn’t happy - he wasn’t religious and we weren’t matched. I asked him for divorce.

It was hard but I don’t regret it. I decided I wanted to live for myself, to think about me.
