In pictures: One vision: HIV photos

The picture was taken in the prefabricated house of a Spanish gypsy woman, in one of the outskirt districts of Seville, the South Polygon.

The district, densely inhabited by the gypsy population, is the unsuccessful outcome of a housing project.

Photographer Stefania Scamardi Fortuna said: "Lola shines in the shadows: she lives serenely, day by day, and looks ahead with infinite trust in spite of the precarious conditions of both her house and her health.”
