Once he is sure that his daughter has the yak herd in order, Jigme goes to town. He may go to town once every 10-14 days.

On the way, he stops off at his sister-in-law’s camp for tea. "We are all one family in this valley," Jigme says.

"Tea-time allows us to discuss the changes in the valley, who has died in the other communities, and the road and electricity lines under construction."
