Photo journal: Struggling to eat

Amidst the hunger in southern Malawi stands a glimpse of one of the solutions to lifting the country out of its relentless cycle of drought and famine.

The village community of Ling'awa has come together to pump water from the nearby Shire river.

The precious water is moved onto a maize field that was donated to benefit the most vulnerable.
