Improvements

Like most Site C residents, Mrs Jezile and her adult children are unemployed. "I'm trying to do small business – there's no work, so I sell sweets and biscuits."

But she acknowledges that recently "things have got better, less crowded".

The plan is to reduce the density of Site C by providing alternative homes for half the families. Many have already moved. Those who remain, like Mrs Jezile, will then be able to assume ownership of their whole site and apply for a housing subsidy.
