In pictures: Eritrean runner

A young runner from Eritrea tells the BBC News website about her life.

My name is Kokob Mehari. I'm on the left in this photo, with two friends, Simret Sultan and Shawit Tesfai. Simret is the top female runner in Eritrea, and now we're training together. I'm 16.

I love to run. At school, I beat all my friends in races, and at regional level. Now I'm preparing to represent my country in the World Cross Country Championships in Japan this April. I'm excited.
