In pictures: Battersea Power Station

The power station was built in two stages, with the first section - Battersea 'A' - reflecting the art deco styling of the 1930s, as in the turbine hall with its Italian white marble wall tiles.

The posters that can be seen here may look like part of the original styling, but are left over from when the derelict power station was used as a film and TV set.

This turbine hall and its 1950s 'B' counterpart are located either side of the giant roofless boiler house, at the corners of which stand the four chimneys.
