Eid is a time for families to get together. So many worshippers arrive at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in central Dhaka for morning prayers that they spill over into the street outside.

There's a carnival atmosphere. Most people are wearing new clothes and hawkers are selling balloons and special food.
