In pictures: Picture Editor Awards: Arafat's failing health

The Nikon Picture Editor Awards are soon to be decided. One of the candidates for the Photo Essay section is Odd Anderson, a 35-year-old Norwegian who works for Agence France Presse.

He has spent his life photographing major events throughout the world, including the Gulf Wars, the fall of the Berlin Wall and political unrest in South Africa and Romania.

His entry for the awards looks at the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
