In pictures: School for Ecuador indigenous women
Introduction

At least 15% of Ecuador's population is of indigenous origin. In the 1990s, the indigenous movement gained unprecedented vitality and strength. Women have always had a role in the fight for land and more rights, but have never occupied a place at the head of the movement. Many feel left behind.

As part of the BBC's Who Runs Your World? series, Laura Plitt visited the Dolores Cacuango School of Women's Leadership to speak to the women there about their aspirations and hopes for the future.
