Cobbler

Emanes Regis, 30, is one of thousands of people who line the streets of Port-au-Prince during the day selling goods ranging from shoelaces to TV aerials, furniture and food, or offering services.

Emanes, a cobbler, has a spot on a busy corner of a neighbourhood that is mostly spared the political violence. His biggest complaint is the lack of work. Emanes dreams of opening his own shop, but for now he cannot even fix a price list for his services. He accepts what his customers can pay.
