Haiti's misfortunes

For many ordinary Haitians, life is a daily struggle.

The country is still wracked by the political turmoil that saw President Jean-Bertrand Aristide overthrown more than a year ago. Many areas remain unsafe. The economy is in tatters. And Haiti has also been battered by natural disasters.

As photographer William Farrington found out in the capital Port-au-Prince, many Haitians are pessimistic about the future. But others are finding creative solutions to their problems.
