Thousands of people gather in a small English village to watch the 40th annual World Conker Championships.
More than 500 people from 13 nations battle for the menís, womenís and team titles.
They use 2,283 horse chestnuts painstakingly collected, drilled and strung by officials from Ashton Conker Club.
The games follow strict rules and are played out under the watchful eye of two stewards. A commentator gives spectators the low-down on every blow.
