In pictures: UN bomb survivor
Introduction

Nada al-Nashif is a member of the international staff of the United Nations Development Programme.

On 19 August 2003, she was on assignment in Baghdad where she was caught in the devastating suicide bombing of the UN headquarters that killed 22 people.

She was badly injured and has spent much of the 12 months since the attack putting her life back together, using her work in human development in the Arab world to assist her recovery.
