Just up the road, Abdi Dahir Guled has been living in the former headquarters of Somalia’s national airlines for 14 years after fleeing his home in the centre of the country.

Without a functioning government, many of Mogadishu’s ministry buildings, universities, schools and colleges have become refugee camps.
