In pictures: Mogadishu life
Makeshift camps

As Somalia awaits a new government which its people hope will restore stability after years of anarchy, the BBC News website's Joseph Winter visits the war-torn capital for a series on life there.

These 842 families stay in a former school.

They are ethnic Somalis who fled from Ethiopia when the two countries fought in 1977 and then were caught up in the civil war.
