Photo journal: Mali guitarist

Two evenings a week, the band plays at Le Savana, an open-air bar-restaurant with a clientele of wealthy Malians and expatriates.

The band plays a mixture of Western pop [sung by Yacoub, who sings in English even though he doesn't speak it] and traditional Malian music.

After the gig I always go back home - not like the others who stay out late in the evening. My age doesn't let me to do that.
