In pictures: Desert horse-racing

Oua Dicko grew up near the border with Mauritania, traditionally the breeding ground of the best horses in Mali.

The oldest jockey in the Bamako races, he has been racing there since the late 1960s.

"Racing horses is my love - even more than women are," he says.

"I've won all the Grand Prix here and I'll never stop."
