Photo Journal: Young Iraqi journalist

This is my father with Saddam. We hid this photo for a while in case looters came to the house and took revenge on us. But now we've put it back up. It's something of my father's, not just a picture of Saddam.

I never knew what my father thought of the regime. I think he had doubts but kept quiet. Eventually he left the diplomatic service, because he wasn't lauding Saddam all the time.
