Here on the first floor was where the Security officers were. They were not connected to us police, answering to the presidency through Saddam's right-hand man, Abid Hamid. We feared them.

Citizens were brought in bound and blindfolded for quick interrogation here first, before being taken to the main Rusafa Security base.

The prisoners would be slapped around a bit, but the real torture took place over there.
