Probably the biggest change for us as policemen is that now we get far better wages - $120 a month instead of the equivalent of $5.50.

That means officers don't need to take bribes any longer, which was the only way to make ends meet.

So the public respect us more now. And fine young men like the two cadets in this picture are coming forward to join the Iraqi Police.
