Photo Journal: Baghdad family

My wife Iman is standing in the courtyard of our house.

We have two rooms overlooking the Tigris, which catches a cool breeze off the river, even when the rest of Baghdad is very hot.

When I have some spare time I like to paint the bricks and the woodwork in our house to make it look brighter and more colourful.

It is a very nice place but it costs us $60 a month to rent. Me and my sons make about $10 a day.
