As part of a BBC News Online series on people's daily lives, a resident of a
poor suburb of the Iraqi capital Baghdad talks about his family life.
My name is Hashim Kadhim. I'm 50-years-old and I live in northern Baghdad. We are Sunni Muslims – in our area, Safina in Adhamiya, they are all Sunnis.
I come from a long line of fishermen on the Tigris river, but now most of the family works as labourers on building sites for a more regular income. My son Muhammad (12) and my nephew Ali (15) work with me.
