Recommended Immunisations:
Malaria: Some areas are high risk for malaria. There is no malaria risk in Bahrain, Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon and Qatar.
Hepatitis A or immune globulin: Recommended for travel to this region.
Hepatitis B: If you are staying for longer than six months.
Meningococcal vaccine: Recommended for pilgrims to the annual Hajj in Saudi Arabia following a number of outbreaks in recent years.
Typhoid: If you are visiting developing countries.
Other Health Hazards:
Traveller's diarrhoea: Make sure your food and drink are safe. Do not buy food from street vendors, or have ice in beverages.
Dengue Fever, filariasis, Leishmaniasis, onchocerciasis: Wear long-sleeved shirt and trousers to prevent insect bites while outside.
Plague/Rabies: Do not handle animals, particularly dogs, cats and monkeys.
