Trafficking route from Russia

A number of broad routes to the UK used by trafficking gangs have been identified.

One of these routes starts in Russia, where Moscow is a trafficking centre. Victims are taken via Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to Poland and the Czech Republic.

From here the route to the UK is less clear. Traffickers use planes -especially budget flights - road, rail and sea.

Direct flights from Russia to the UK are also used.
