Photo journal: A family joins the EU

Inta Sarkane is a 48-year-old graphic designer with two children:

I think the EU might bring new professional opportunities for me: new international projects and more cooperation with Baltic and Nordic countries.

But I fear that the cost of living will increase. I'm lucky in the sense that I've always had a job and a place to live but some of my friends live in worse conditions than I do. It's painful for me to see intelligent, educated people struggle financially. EU accession will make prices go up to the EU level but salaries won't go up as much.
