Photo Journal: Inside Europe's parliament

All MEPs are worried about low turnout in European elections. At the last election, in 1999, the Finnish media made matters worse by repeating over and over again that no-one was interested.

On that occasion Finland's political parties did not bother to campaign either. However, they have now understood that European Parliament is powerful, and that Finnish and European politics are closely linked.

In 2004 the parties will mount a serious campaign and turnout should increase.
