One thing I do not like at all about the job is the travel. I live 500 kilometres north-east of Helsinki, near the Russian border. I fly via Helsinki - it takes more than five hours even with the fastest connection.
I typically spend three to four days a week in Brussels. I often meet voters in Finland at weekends, and a few times a year we have a "constituency week".
Once a month the parliament holds sessions in Strasbourg. Like most MEPs, I cannot see the point of this. Of course, it means even more time spent travelling.
