Photo Journal: Chechen civil servant

I'm an economist. In 1985 I got a job in the Culture Ministry. Now I'm head of the finance department.

Our ministry used to be in the centre of Grozny, near the presidential palace. We came under fire but went on working, until the air raids started. We saw everything that happened.

I was injured in a suicide bomb attack last December. I broke my collarbone falling through the floor. Only two of us out of six in the room survived. I'm still recovering from the trauma.
