For those who want something different from camping out in a muddy field - or are exhausted after a summer's partying - Iceland's Airwaves festival offers something dramatically different.
It started out in 1999 as a showcase for a few Icelandic bands, and has since blossomed into a fully-grown festival based in Reykjavik.
The festival plays host to over 60 Icelandic acts, and last year also saw Fatboy Slim, Sweden's The Hives and homegrown stars Gus Gus appear. Gus Gus return this year.
Summer may be gone, but the party still goes on.
