In front of the Kim Il-sung Statue

The first place we were taken to was the Bronze Statue of Kim Il-sung in Pyongyang. We had to bow for a moment's silence. Most of us just pretended to do it. Although I learned about the atrocities of Kim Il-sung from a young age, I didn't feel that awkward - it was just an historical site. I did feel sorry for all the North Koreans whose existence was centered on just one man.
