West Virginia's Robert Byrd, 88, became the longest-serving senator in history in 2006 and his latest win means he could add six more years to his 48 years of service.
In the House races, the incumbents all won re-election as expected. Democrat Alan Mollohan held on to the 1st district despite being accused of inappropriately directing federal funding in a way that improved the value of his family's property.
Incumbent Democrat Robert Byrd beat Republican John Raese. West Virginia's other Senate seat is held by Democrat Jay Rockefeller.
