Incumbent Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell's seat was initially the Republicans' top target, but Ms Cantwell held off her opponent, former Safeco CEO Mike McGavick.

In the House, the Republicans unsuccessfully targeted the 2nd district. The Democrats failed to capture the 5th district, but still hope to pick up the 8th district.

SENATE
Incumbent Democrat Maria Cantwell beat Republican Mike McGavick. Washington's other Senate seat is held by Democrat Patty Murray.
