The most interesting election in Arkansas was the gubernatorial race, as no Senate seats were up for grabs and the House races were not considered very competitive.
Democrat Mike Beebe is the new governor, holding off the Republican Asa Hutchinson. This is bad news for the outgoing governor Mike Huckabee who had presidential aspirations in 2008.
There is no Senate race this year. Democrats Mark L Pryor and Blanche L Lincoln hold the seats.
