Democratic challenger Sherrod Brown beat Republican incumbent Mike DeWine in a key seat.

And Democrat Ted Strickland won in an open race for governor.

In the House the Democrats took advantage of the fall from grace of Republican Bob Ney, who had represented the 18th district before he recently pleaded guilty to corruption charges. Zack Space beat Republican Joy Padgett in this district.

SENATE
Democratic challenger Sherrod Brown beat Republican incumbent Mike DeWine. Republican George Vionovich holds the other seat.
