The Democrats picked up the 8th district - where Vanderburgh County Sheriff Brad Ellsworth was challenging Republican John Hostettler - and the the 9th district, where Democrat Baron Hill beat Republican Mike Sodrel, who had beaten him in 2004.
The Democrats also picked up the 2nd district.
Incumbent Republican Senator Richard Lugar faced no opposition from the Democrats. Democrat Evan Bayh holds a closed seat.
