In pictures: Nomadic lifestyle

In the past the Tuareg were warriors. Before Mali became a French colony my family used to take slaves and sell them in Morocco. That does not happen anymore.

In the early 1990s there was a rebellion. The Tuaregs wanted independence in the desert regions. But we signed an agreement with the government in 1996. Now we are at peace.
