Life is easier for us when there are lots of tourists in Timbuktu. It means I can sell handicrafts which have been made in the village. We make gold and silver jewellery, decorative swords and daggers.

The sword is very important for Tuareg. They are passed from generation to generation and are said to be protected by the victories of its past owners.
