In pictures: Remembering the genocide

Five days a week several dozen prisoners set off before dawn for a one-hour walk to the marshes where they spend the day making sun-dried mud bricks.

Known as "genocidaires" these prisoners are Hutus who carried out killings in 1994.

I tried to capture the natural beauty of Rwanda, the seemingly peaceful backdrop, but with the prisoners being marched to work by an armed guard.
