DESCRIPTION: Lothians
Labour had a solid performance at constituency level in 1999 and looks odds-on to do so again, with just Edinburgh West continuing in Lib Dem hands. The Scottish National Party picked up three list seats, but Margo MacDonald has since left the party and will stand on the list in her own right. Whether success on her part happens at the expense of the bigger parties, or of the only Green MSP Robin Harper, remains to be seen.
