A body found in waters off south Wales is that of a 26-year-old woman whose hire car was found on the Second Severn Crossing, say police.
Gemma Garn, from Cwmbran, Torfaen, went missing before Christmas after a night out.
A commuter reported seeing somebody making their way towards the barrier on the bridge on the morning Ms Garn was reported missing.
Her body was found at Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan.
"Following the discovery of a body of a female in the water at Penarth on February 3rd, sadly Gwent Police can confirm that it is of missing person Gemma Garn," police said in a statement.
"Gwent Police continue to support Gemma's family through this difficult time. They request that they be left alone to grieve in private."
Police believed that Ms Garn's hire vehicle had been left on the bridge at around 0550 GMT on Saturday, 19 December.
A commuter travelling across the bridge also saw a lone person, who was said to have generally fitted Ms Garn's build, on the bridge at around 0645 GMT that same morning.
Ms Garn graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff in 2006.
