Missing woman's car on Second Severn Crossing

20 December 09 16:43 GMT

Police searching for a woman who went missing after a night out have found her car on the Second Severn Crossing.

Gemma Louise Garn, from St Dials, Cwmbran, was last seen out with friends during the early hours of Saturday in nearby Pontnewydd.

The hire car she was using was found later that morning at about 1150 GMT. Police think it had been there since 0600 GMT.

Ms Garn's disappearance has been described as "out of character".

Described as white and about 5ft 6in, Ms Garn has short dark hair with blonde highlights, blue-green eyes and a fair complexion.

She was last seen wearing a black polo-neck top underneath a black-and-white patterned dress, a brown casual jacket, black tights and black high-heeled shoes.

The hire vehicle she is believed to have been using was a black Kia Rio five-door saloon and police are appealing for anyone who saw this car or has information on where Ms Garn is to contact Gwent Police using the 101 non-emergency telephone number.
